7th Gin to Christmas: Woodstock Gin Co

GINS TO CHRISTMAS (6)The Woodstock High Tea Gin

Time for a “spot of tea”  with Woodstock. Channeling my Alice in Wonderland vibes, I am feeling festive with a High Tea Gin, with flair!  Take a look at the Woodstock High Tea Gin, Balsimo Beads – Rose, Fitch & Leedes Pink Tonic and a wedge of Lime.

About the distillery

It all began in 2012 when Simon Von Witt realised that he had a knack for producing fine liqueurs! After producing a variety of Italian liqueurs, a friend and well informed source in the industry told him about the endless possibilities of Gin.

Being creative and adventurous by nature, Simon began experimenting with variety of different botanicals to produce a high quality South African gin. Simon’s passion for the environment, knowledge of local fynbos and indigenous plant species and assistance from a well informed source enabled him to gauge the correct ratios of botanicals!

The Woodstock Gin Company produces small batches of premium gin through a carefully controlled fractional distillation process.

This distillation process is combined with an equally special and well guarded secret recipe of botanicals, which delivers the taste that is only found through our passion to create an exceptional quality gin.

Only the finest, natural ingredients are sourced and used in each batch that we produce. All ingredients are scrupulously checked and measured to 0.1 of a gram to ensure that what goes into our Gin is nothing but perfect!

The Woodstock Gin Co range symbolises the desire to create truly amazing gin with South African flair. Great care is taken to ensure that the quality of the ingredients is of the highest standard. This High Tea Gin has a reddish brown colour and is made from wine distilled gin, but with a post distillation infusion of a honeybush/rooibos mix.

What makes it special?

  • A complex gin with similar flavours on the palate as the grape distilled Inception gin, but with lingering undertones of rooibos and honeybush, which are added post distillation.
  • Unique South African flavours and refreshingly different from other gins
  • Easy drinking on its own or with a block of ice and slice of lemon and a dash of light tonic or sparkling water

A few of their ingredients include:

  • Juniper Berries
  • Cardamom
  • Honeybush
  • Rooibos
  • Buchu
  • Lime

For a “girly” gin I used the Fitch&Leeds Pink Tonic…
