Nadia Barnard, Principal at Capsicum Culinary Studio’s Rosebank campus in Johannesburg, is one of the speakers taking part in the Career Guidance Workshops at the Creative Industries Career Expo, taking place at Museum Africa, Newtown from March 11 to 13.
In her three workshops to be held on Friday, March 13 (at 10:00, 11:30 and 13:00), Barnard will be discussing “Cheffing as a Creative Career”. The expo is open to the public and free to attend.
The Creative Industries Career Expo is holding various career guidance workshops, facilitated by educators, industry experts and artists. Making a career in the creative industries does not mean that you have to be the lead vocalist, principal dancer, head chef, curator or painter. There are many careers that support the creative industries which are as rewarding, challenging and sustainable.
The Creative Industries Career Expo is a unique, exciting and unprecedented event, providing a platform for learners to access information and gain insight into the different career opportunities in the creative, cultural and heritage sectors. The Expo is being hosted by Creative Knowledge, in partnership with the Department of Arts and Culture. This initiative is supported by the Gauteng Department of Education.
Capsicum Culinary Studio, and its sister institute The Private Hotel School, will also have a stand at the expo to promote cheffing and hospitality as a creative career choice.
