De Grendel hosts range of virtual wine tastings

Over the coming weeks, Morgan Steyn, De Grendel’s assistant winemaker, and Charles Hopkins, Cellar Master will be presenting live virtual wine tastings via Zoom.

Each tasting will focus on a specific wine and grape variety in which they will share their knowledge and passion with you. Even though you may not be able to literally taste the wine with them, these themed tastings will provide you with great insight and information about the viti- and viniculture of each wine.

The information they tend to share with you will be interesting and digestible and are aimed at novices and connoisseurs alike, and you will also have the opportunity to ask them questions in real time.

To register, simply click on the BOOK NOW links below, and the Loyalty Club coordinator, Amelia Truter, will confirm your virtual seat. There is no charge for these tastings, but space is limited to 40 attendees – first come, first served – and tastings will start at 6 pm.

They are extremely excited about this new project and look forward to welcoming you to they virtual wine tastings.

Chardonnay is the most planted grape variety around the world and much of that has to do with its ability to grow almost anywhere. The ancestral home of this grape is in Burgundy, where the wine the region makes is simply known as white Burgundy
MCC Brut

Méthode Cap Classique is the South African version of Champagne. The only difference being that Champagne grapes must be grown in the Champagne region of France compared to South African cultivars used for MCC being grown everywhere on local soil. MCC appeared in SA less than 50 years ago and is one of the fastest-growing wine categories.
