I know it’s the 2nd of January, but none of this NEW YEAR, NEW ME crap.
No, this is purely a lifestyle change and we are committed to this “lifestyle” for the next 78 days. Now that seems oddly specific you might think; but we will stick to a eating plan consisting of low carbohydrates, high fat until my 36th birthday in March.
It’s part vanity (because I want to look good), but primarily it’s to “feel better”. I am 35 (and 3/4) and feel terrible; my joints are aching, I have chronic headaches and breakouts, not to mention I am lethargic, bloated and just plain miserable.
I’ve done a variation of this eating plan a number of years ago, quite successful as well. We will be giving it a go again, swopping sweets and snacks for vegetables and (good) nuts, hamburgers and chips for chicken and steamed veg.
These LOW CARB, HIGH FAT lifestyle diets are called a myriad of names:
- Keto diet
- Atkins diet
- Banting
- Caveman diet
However they all have one thing in common: no sugar or refined carbohydrates!
In order to ensure accountability and to share our experience on the lifestyle diet we chose, I will regularly update the site with some new revelations as well as the good, the bad and the ugly of putting your body through such a drastic change.
Follow my journey to feeling like a 30-something again; only slightly fatigued and sporadically bitchy.
Strap in, as this going to be an interesting couple of weeks.
But first, some preparation and reading; here’s the information you need to start your lifestyle change.
